When a 17-year-old girl suffering from bleeding problems visited a church and asked for prayer, a worker prayed for her there and later at her home. She began attending services, slowly began to recover and has accepted Christ. In spite of COVID-19 restrictions, local missionaries conducted Sunday services at various church members’ homes and kept in touch with others by phone and social media.
A mother suffering for many years from leg pain and an ear disease began to be healed after she put her faith in Christ and called on Him in prayer. Local missionaries have been following up with her in home visits and by phone to build solid foundations for her faith.
A graduate student uninterested in the Lord asked a local missionary why God was not answering his parents’ prayers for his father to recover from COVID-19.
A brick supplier who became ill and was unable to pay his medical bills became aware of his moral shortcomings when a local missionary visited and prayed for him.
A family suffering from various diseases for many years thought the gods had cursed them. Broken, hopeless and bitter, they turned away local missionaries who offered to pray for them. When workers returned, the family gradually heard them out and eventually allowed them to hold extended, fasting prayer in their home.
In spite of pandemic lockdowns, workers at one ministry undertook numerous outreaches, prayer meetings and Bible studies that resulted in nearly 4,000 people putting their faith in Christ over the course of six months.
Praises that local missionaries visiting homes, counseling people and leading Bible studies and prayer meetings saw many people confess their sins and trust in Christ.
In spite of unrest and upheaval, the gospel went forth as local missionaries visited villages, returned later to those they met and built close relationships – often praying with them at night. Workers also reached people online or by phone.
Even as COVID-19 took the lives of many loved ones, local missionaries brought the love of Christ to the poor in the way of food and other aid. Workers at one ministry supplied food rations to nearly 100 families over a six-month period, as well as to a children’s home and to widows.
